Total Theft
What should you do if your vehicle is stolen?
- If your vehicle is equipped with a tracking system, contact your service provider.
- Contact the police immediately and mark down the police report number.
- Contact our Claims Department to report the loss as soon as possible.
- Please keep all invoices and receipts related to additional transportation costs.
- Gather all documents necessary for the settlement of the loss: Bill of sale or lease agreement, maintenance receipts, pictures of the vehicle, etc.
Deductible for the total theft of your vehicle
Under the Quebec automobile insurance policy, you are responsible for paying the deductible if your vehicle is stolen.
However, at La Capitale, we handle things differently! We assume responsibility for the deductible if your private passenger vehicle is stolen or if there is an attempted total theft your automobile.
