Steven Ross has been responsible for business activities of all the companies and affiliates related to La Capitale Financial Group’s Life and Health Insurance and Financial Services sector.
Mr. Ross started his career as a financial security advisor. He has held a variety of management positions with a number of important Quebec financial institutions.
He joined La Capitale in 2004 as Vice-President of Individual Insurance and Distribution. He was named Executive Vice President of Individual Insurance and Annuities in 2005, President and Chief Operating Officer of La Capitale Financial Security in 2007 and President and Chief Operating Officer of La Capitale’s Life and Health Insurance and Financial Services sector in January 2011.
He is a graduate of the Advanced Management Training Program at Duke University in North Carolina, has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Ottawa and is a certified member of the Ordre des administrateurs agréés du Québec (Quebec association of certified administrators).
He is very involved in the life and health insurance and financial services industry. He currently serves on the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association's (CLHIA) Quebec Board of Directors, the CLHIA's Standing Committee on Standards and Marketplace Relations and the CLHIA's Standing Committee on Quebec Affairs. He is also a member of the Assuris Industry Advisory Committee and a Board member of CDASF (Centre de développement en assurances et services financiers or centre for the development of insurance and financial services). In its February 2016 edition, the Finance et Investissement journal included Mr. Ross among the Top 25 most influential personalities in Quebec's financial industry for the second consecutive year.
Active in his community, he has worked with various healthcare and environmental protection organizations. In addition to acting as co-chair of the Quebec and Chaudière-Appalaches United Way campaign for 2015, he has been a Major Donor Committee member since 2013.
