Steven Ross has been responsible for all business activities of La Capitale Financial Group’s Life and Health Insurance and Financial Services sector since January of 2011.
Steven started his career as a financial security advisor. He has held a variety of management positions with a number of important Quebec financial institutions.
He joined La Capitale in 2004 as Vice-President of Individual Insurance and Distribution. He was named Executive Vice-President of Individual Insurance and Annuities in 2005 and President and Chief Operating Officer of La Capitale Financial Security in 2007.
He is a graduate of the Advanced Management Training Program at Duke University in North Carolina, has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Ottawa and is a certified member of the Ordre des administrateurs agréés du Québec (Quebec Association of Certified Administrators).
He is very involved in the life and health insurance and financial services industry. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association (CLHIA) and the CLHIA's Standing Committee on Standards and Marketplace Relations. He is also a member of the Assuris Industry Advisory Committee and a member of the Board of Directors of the CDASF (Centre de développement en assurances et services financiers).
In February 2016, for the second consecutive year, he was selected by Investment Executive/Finance et Investissement as one of the 25 professionals who distinguished themselves in the financial industry in Quebec.
Active in his community, he has worked with various healthcare and environmental protection organizations. In addition to co-chairing the Quebec and Chaudière-Appalaches United Way campaign for 2015, he has been a Major Donor Committee member since 2013.
