La Capitale and the VIVA workplace health and wellness program present the Montreal trade show for running enthusiasts
January 31, 2017 – Given the success of Montreal’s inaugural trade show for running enthusiasts, La Capitale Insurance and Financial Group and the VIVA workplace health and wellness program are proud to again be associated with this event, which will take place at the Palais des congrès de Montréal on March 4 and 5.
Running is continuing to gain in popularity. In good weather and bad, a growing number of people put on their running shoes and set off on the streets and trails close to their home. The many races held throughout the province over the last few years are a sign of the increased enthusiasm for running. Because of this, Yves St-Louis, chairman of the Montreal trade show for running enthusiasts, and his enthusiastic team members are back for the second year in a row.
“The success of our first trade show demonstrates that runners are interested in attending a large gathering where they can find all the resources associated with our sport in a single location,” said Yves St-Louis. “This year, the trade show will have over 80 exhibitors which include healthcare specialists, event organizers, equipment manufacturers, running clubs and trainers. And, of course, our friendly spokesperson, Dominic Arpin, will be on hand. Whether you’re an experienced runner or you’re just getting into it, you’ll find a wealth of information and products that will make your next outing even more enjoyable!”
Running, health and well-being
“For La Capitale and VIVA, a trade show for running enthusiasts is a perfect match! Running certainly is one of the most accessible sports there is. What more do you need than a pair of running shoes and some comfortable clothing? It only takes a few runs for the health benefits to be felt,” said Annie Giguère, Director of Product Development and Marketing at La Capitale. “Our company’s mission is to build, protect and value what people consider essential to their financial security and well-being. Consequently La Capitale's VIVA workplace health and wellness program focuses on prevention through endeavours that foster the adoption of healthy lifestyle habits, such as running.
“Considering the current context of an aging population, transfers of costs to the public sector and employee turnover issues, VIVA makes it easier for employers to increase employee engagement and retention, reduce absenteeism and enhance productivity. The VIVA program has a positive impact on employees' lifestyle habits and happiness at work, while allowing them to have a better work-life balance,” Ms. Giguère concluded.
