La Capitale offers complimentary COVID-19 hospitalization coverage to insureds with Critical Illness insurance and their families
Quebec City, May 8, 2020 – La Capitale Insurance and Financial Services is taking concrete measures on behalf of its insureds and their loved ones by offering them free coverage that will help reduce financial anxiety related to a hospitalization for COVID-19.
This free coverage is for clients with Critical Illness insurance acquired individually, not through group insurance offered by an employer. The benefit consists of a lump-sum amount of $2,000 and covers the insured, the spouse and children under age 18 who live at the same address as the insured.
“La Capitale is listening to what its members need, and we believe that this type of coverage can help reduce the financial stress when a family member is hospitalized. Our mission as a mutual company has always been to value and protect what our members hold most dear. This measure affects thousands of families in all provinces across Canada,” stated Jean St-Gelais, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of La Capitale Insurance and Financial Services.
Coverage for COVID-19 hospitalization is a natural complement to Critical Illness insurance, when the consequences for a family are considered. This type of insurance was designed to deal with the financial impact of being diagnosed with a serious illness.
This benefit is being automatically added to individual Critical Illness insurance contracts that are in effect and will be available until July 31, 2020. Insureds with this insurance do not need to contact La Capitale to have it added. Details about this coverage are available here: www.lacapitale.com/en/covid
La Capitale is contributing to the gradual re-opening of the economy with this coverage against the financial impact related to the hospitalization of a child or parent who is a client of the mutual company.
This measure is one of many initiatives taken by La Capitale since the beginning of the crisis to support and help its clients and the community as a whole. For more information on these measures, go to www.lacapitale.com/en/covid-information
For close to 80 years, in line with its mutualist values, La Capitale has adopted the mission of protecting what is held dearest by its members: their health and that of their loved ones, their financial security and their property. Our commitment still holds in this time of unprecedented turbulence. La Capitale is especially here to guide and serve its clients and its members.
