La Capitale financial group presents Cabaret

Quebec City, October 25, 2012 – La Capitale Financial Group is delighted to be the principal partner of the cult musical Cabaret, which is returning to Quebec City in the spring of 2013 after its fantastic success in 2004. This stage production, directed by the great Denise Filiatrault, will début in Quebec City in mid-March and feature performances in Montreal and Gatineau during the spring before opening in major centres throughout Quebec.

Cabaret is a mythical Broadway musical that has held an important place in the heart of the international performing arts community for decades. During that time, it has enjoyed a resounding success worldwide and enthralled millions of theatre fans. In addition to the success of the stage production, the 1972 screen adaptation of Cabaret received a total of eight Oscars. Twenty-two artists consisting of six musicians, seven actors and nine dancers will be on stage in this Quebec production. Singer Brigitte Boisjoli (Sally Bowles) and actors Éric Paulhus (Clifford Bradshaw) and Luc Guérin (Emcee) will perform the three leading roles in the production's unique storyline. Based on the musical written by Joe Masteroff, Cabaret takes us back to early 1930 Berlin, when the slow gain in strength of the Nazi party culminated in the emergence of the Third Reich. The musical, set in a nightclub in dark, dazzling Berlin, paints a picture of an entire era.

We are delighted to have played a role in bringing one of the greatest musical productions back to the stage with the talent of our local artists and artisans. La Capitale, noted for its presence throughout Quebec, is proud to be associated with this Quebec adaptation of Cabaret, this one-of-a-kind musical, which will offer performances in several regions of the province. La Capitale's objective as the principal partner is to foster the continuing development of Quebec’s cultural life.
