La Capitale teams up with golfer Hugo Bernard
Montreal – Montreal native Hugo Bernard has signed with seven new sponsors as he embarks on his highly anticipated career as a professional golfer, Higher Ground Sports Management Inc. announced today.
Bernard is thrilled to have the support of so many top-tier brands including: Quebecor, La Capitale Insurance and Financial Services, Claret Asset Management, BCF Business Law, KPMG, and TD Bank.
He will also be wearing apparel from Cutter & Buck in a newly signed agreement.
“I am extremely excited to partner with such a strong collection of brands, and the wonderful people behind those brands. I look forward to representing them all on the global golf stage and to having some fun as we go to work on some creative and effective activations,” said Bernard. “Above all, I am grateful for their support and belief in me as I begin my professional career.”
The native of Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Que. (a suburb of Montreal) was a decorated amateur and collegiate golfer before turning professional in 2018 after climbing to the top of the ranks for Canadian amateur golfers.
Bernard, 24, has full status on Mackenzie Tour-PGA Tour Canada for 2019 and will also play a handful of tournaments on PGA Tour Latinoamerica, where he is debuting this week at the Buenaventura Classic in Panama.
He will attempt to qualify for some PGA Tour and Web.com Tour events as well as he gets his feet wet on the biggest stages in professional golf.
A former member of Golf Canada’s national team, Bernard has been named part of Golf Canada’s Young Pro Squad for 2019 – which will see him gain valuable insights and coaching from some of the most knowledgeable names in golf.
Bernard’s new sponsors will activate around him within Quebec, and will also enjoy branding on the golfer’s apparel. BCF will appear on Bernard’s golf bag.
